From Fr Greg's Desk: 7th March

Hi everyone!

Br. Mark Ryan, fsp, RIP. It has been a fairly intensive week at the Parish. The major thing has been Br. Mark Ryan's funeral last Tuesday at Holy Cross Ryde last Tuesday with eight priests, two deacons and a full complement of mourners. The students were an absolute credit to the college, with their welcoming, guidance, and guard of honour at the end ... truly a marvellous way of farewelling a very great man of both God and the people.

The Parish held a moving Memorial Mass for Br Mark on Monday evening, and I thank all those who helped make it a fitting tribute to him from our Parish, especially given that we knew there were only limited places available at the funeral, and that this would supplement those places and be a fitting way to farewell this long-time beloved parishioner of ours.

Extra Easter Masses. We have begun organising our Easter Roster for this year, and have made a few extra Masses available for the extra numbers that usually come along, since we are restricted to 200 people at SCB Church and 160 at OLQP. These times are at 10pm on Easter Saturday evening, as a late vigil service, at 7am at OLQP on Sunday morning, and at 6pm on Sunday evening. The booking system will still be in operation, with bookings available from 7am on the 15th of March.

And that's all for now,

Your brother in Christ's service,

Fr. Greg

May you rest in peace, Br. Mark...
