From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 1st May

 Hi everyone!

Well, it is certainly nice to be 'back onboard' this week, after my little 'COVID exile'. Thank you for all your messages of concern and support, but it does seem I had nothing more than mild symptoms, and am well and truly on my feet once again. By the way, there are lots of things happening in and around the Parish, and I would love to invite you to take advantage of them. Among the events coming up, we have:

Trivia Night SCB Hall - 14th May 2022.

Our Youth are organising a Trivia Night at SCB as a 'fundraising' event and you are invited. Should be a really great night (... they always are!). Bookings are open for tables of 10, so organise your friends and family into a formidable group team. Cost is $100.00 per table, with all proceeds going towards our Youth Hub activities. For more information, please see the inset on page 3

Acolyte Formation 7th & 14th May SCB Hall 9am - 12pm.

We are very pleased to have a nice little contingent of parishioners willing to become acolytes. Having many Acolytes will mean less of a burden for anyone in particular, and as we have lots of Masses to attend to, I greatly appreciate the help. This could also be a good 'refresher course' for our current Acolytes, particularly those who have not participated in the course in recent years. The Archdiocesan 'Eucharist Minister's Course' is a prerequisite for becoming an acolyte, but you could still do this course now and complete the Eucharistic minister's course in the near future to qualify for this ministry. For more information, please contact the Parish Office (email: office@rgcp.org.au or phone 9807 2966).

Welcoming & Hospitality Ministry Formation Morning Sat 21 May 2022 SCB

We are holding a Formation Session for our 'Welcome & Hospitality Ministry ' on Saturday 21st May from 10am - 12pm at the SCB Hall. Welcoming and hospitality is actually one of the most vital ministries in a Parish. Many people who come for the first time will come again, depending on how welcome they feel (so it would really be great if everyone at the Parish were to be a part of this ministry!!) However, we particularly need for people to be there at Masses to welcome all and sundry, hand out a bulletin with a smile, hold an umbrella over an elderly person caught by unexpected rain, or and invite them as they leave for a cup of coffee afterwards, when available. Why not come along and see for yourselves. "All welcome", naturally!! Please RSVP to the Parish Office to let us know you are coming.

RGCP Family Outreach

One of the pastoral areas we wish to develop at RGCP is that of a 'family outreach'. We have been doing this for some time now, with our 10 am Family Mass at SCB and our 5 pm Mass at OLQP. However, now that the COVID inconveniences appear to have been overcome, we'd like to once again move forward with this vital ministry. This week we will be starting a playgroup on Wednesday mornings at OLQP Hall on Wed 11th May at 9 am, in addition to the playgroup on Thursday mornings at 9 am at SCB. You are even welcome to attend both playgroups as you wish, or alternate between them, according to your timetables and needs!

And that's about it for now! Your brother, in the Risen Christ's service,

Fr. Greg
