From Fr Greg's desk: Sunday 3rd April

Hi everyone!

Another very rainy week ...
so much so that the Holy Cross College Cadet camp was called off at the last moment as the ground was basically drenched. Hence, I will be with you this weekend at the weekend Masses, instead of camping out at Singleton. Nice to be with you all in any case! (... and certainly a lot warmer and drier!)

Palms Needed for Palm Sunday Celebrations

Just a general call out to anyone who has large palm branches growing in your backyards; we could certainly use some to decorate our Churches this week. We also need lots of the smaller variety to be cut up for Parishioners. Please contact the Parish Office [9807-2966 or office@rgcp.org.au] to let us know what you could provide. The Palm Cutting Working Bee will be happening next Friday 8th April at 2 pm at the Parish Office, so please come along to help, and BYO secateurs!!

Final Easter Volunteers' Meeting next Tuesday 5th April at 7 pm

Thanks for the wonderful response so far to our request for volunteers to help out at the Easter Celebrations. Many have come forward and offered their assistance for these tasks. We will be having our final Easter Volunteers' meeting at SCB Church hall, to finalise details for the Easter celebrations, which should last no more than 45 minutes. There are still roles to be filled, so please come along even if you haven't offered yourself yet!

We need Parking Wardens at nearly all our Easter Masses and Liturgies

So as to avoid any parking chaos, and which I hope we can finalise this week. I certainly don't want to be worrying about this during Holy Week!! Apart from the Parking Wardens, we need people to help set up (and then take back) chairs and things both for the Good Friday "Live Stations of the Cross" inside SCB Primary School grounds, as well as outside SCB Church at 7 am on Easter Sunday and to bring them back into the Parish hall after the 10 am Mass (at about 11 am). Again, please contact the Parish Office [9807-2966 or office@rgcp.org.au] to advise us of your availability.

Apologies for COVID related disruptions to the Parish Office

As there is still a lot of the new strain of COVID flying around, it will come as no surprise to anyone that our Office has also been affected by COVID related absences of staff over the past month. We apologise for any inconvenience that may have caused and we thank you for your patience and understanding with delays in publishing Church rosters and the like.

And that's about it for now!

God bless!!

Fr. Greg
