Happy School Holidays to all our School and College Cohorts

Term 3 finished this week so it will be another three weekends before we have our Kid's Liturgy again. That will give a well earned rest to our Kid's Liturgy helpers, while they take on their 'full time' role as Holiday Hosts for their kids. Thanks for the hard work you all put into making our liturgies more meaningful and better suited to our younger kids.

 

Training Days For 'SCB Coffee Van Trainees' Wednesday 1/10 @ 10 am & Saturday 11/10 @ 12 pm.

I am delighted to see a nice cohort of 'wannabe' coffee-making experts have responded to the offer of free professional training to operate the Coffee Van, courtesy of Frankie of Frankie's Coffee Shops (husband to Tina who operates the van on Thursday mornings).

There are still a few places available, if you want to be a 'last minute addition' to the training sessions, but get in quick, especially for the one next Wednesday 1st Oct at 10 am. The other session is set for Saturday week, 11 Oct at 12 pm. Contact the Parish Office for more info or to book your own spot.

 

Please Note: There Will Be No Feast Day This Year at SCB in Lieu of the SC School Fete

Parishioners have been enquiring about the Feast day at SCB this year.

Due to holding the School Fete last Sunday week, and the desire to support this major Parish School event, we decided at our last Parish Pastoral Council, to defer our next Parish Feast Day at SCB Primary School to Sunday November 8 2026 instead.

Our desire is that we can integrate the efforts of both the School and the Parish each year, supporting one another on alternate years, and hold a special event at Our Lady Queen of Peace on or near the anniversary date of the Foundation Stone (1st March) in the interim year.

Next year, however, we intend to hold a special one-off event at OLQP Church to unveil the new Marian Windows which, God willing, we hope to have installed by then, which would be around Sunday 7th March 2026. More information about this as we get closer to the date.
