Donations for Seafarers

Sr Mary Leahy has been working day and night recently to help thousands of exhausted seafarers, facing extreme hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently banned from boarding the ships and providing support and assistance as usual to workers as usual, Sr Mary is creating thousands of care packages for those stuck at sea.

Ryde-Gladvesille, along with 5 other parishes in Sydney are collecting supplies to assist Sr Mary in building the care packages for these seafarers.

As Sr Mary desribes it, “Times are always pretty dire for seafarers, they are mostly driven to work at sea by extreme poverty, but this virus has taken it to a whole new level."
