Masks at Masses: COVID-19 Update for Ryde-Gladesville

Following on from recommendations from the NSW Premier and NSW Department of Health on August 2, as well advice from the Sydney Chancery, it is now strongly recommended that all those attending Masses, services and other events at Ryde-Gladesville wear a reusable or disposable face mask.

While these measures are not compulsory, we do strongly advise all parishioners and visitors to our churches to wear a mask when visiting. As our churches are an enclosed space, and physical distancing can sometimes be difficult to maintain, it is important that we all do our part in this small way, and wear a mask to keep each other safe.

Please note, visitors will now no longer be permitted to enter the Parish Office without a mask. If you arrive at the Parish Office without a face mask, we will not be able to let you in, and will ask you to either call us instead or leave any deliveries at the door.

We do apologise for this inconvenience, but we hope you can understand how critical the safety of our staff, clergy and our community is to ensuring Masses and other events at our Parish can still go ahead.

In coming weeks and months, it will be up to each and every one of us, along with the rest of the Australian and international community, to ensure we are doing our best to prevent any further outbreaks of COVID-19, and can return to a sense of normality as safely and as soon as possible.

  • have any cold & flu symptoms or have experienced any in the past 14 days
  • have recently travelled overseas
  • have recently travelled to Melbourne
  • have recently or to a COVID-19 hotspot
  • or are awaiting COVID-19 testing results

If you have any  questions or concerns about these measures, please contact the Parish Office and we will be more than happy to discuss or explain.

Thank you for cooperation and understanding. May you and your families stay safe, happy and steadfast in faith during these unprecedented times.
