Alpha Retreat

It's one of the most ancient prayers of the Church, and one that we all need to rediscover and make our own. "Come, Holy Spirt" was the prayer on our lips and on our hearts at last Saturday's Alpha retreat day, where the Alpha guests and team came together for a day to find out more about the Spirit and the Spirit's action in our lives.

The day was held at Holy Name of Mary Parish Hall, Hunters Hills, which offered a beautiful and reflective space to take time out and reflect on God, and in a particular way, on the Holy Spirit - as the one who comes alongside us in so many ways: to guide, support, comfort, encourage, enlighten and shake us up. The same Spirit of God that was hovering over the waters at creation and that brought order out of chaos, is the same Spirit that we have access to today. God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.

Not only was there great input, we enjoyed time for meaningful prayer, reflection, conversation and song, as well as amazing meals together.

Please continue to pray for the guests on Alpha, that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit and open to what the Spirit wants to reveal to them over the coming weeks on the Alpha journey.
