COVID-19 Update: 1st December

The NSW Government recently announced updated COVID-19 restrictions for places of worship.

From December 1st 2020:

  • Indoor religious gatherings of up to 300 people are permitted, provided the 4 square metre rule is observed
  • Outdoor religious gatherings of up to 500 people are permitted, provided the 2 square metre rule is observed

What do these new restrictions mean for Ryde-Gladesville?

  • Both our churches are still restricted to their current maximum capacities, in line with the 4 square metre rule. This means up to 100 guests are permitted in St Charles Church and 66 guests are permitted in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church.
  • Any overflow of these numbers will be able to attend Mass, however will be seated outdoors, in line with the 2 square metre rule.
  • Bookings are essential to be seated indoors. If you wish to sit inside the Church, please book online via the Parish website each week Monday 7am and Friday 3pm each week.
  • All those seated outdoors will be required to sign in via QR code or manual registration.
  • Physical distancing, temperature checks, and other health and safety measures will still be in place.
  • There are no changes to capacity limits at weddings and funerals - these remain 100 at SCB and 66 at OLQP as this is the maximum that are permitted in the space.
