Feast of Christ the King

This Sunday, the Church celebrates the Feast of Christ the King, also known as the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. This feast falls on the last Sunday of the Liturgical Year. It is a relatively new addition to the Liturgical Calendar in the Roman Rite as it was instituted by Pope Pius IX in 1925 in response to a world that was rejecting Jesus Christ and increasingly being dominated by secularism.

The Life, Marriage and Family Office has created some great prayer resources to celebrate the solemnity with your family at home.

With so many of our parishioners still not able to make it to face-to-face Masses, this is a great way to celebrate this special occasion in the Church calendar year.
