Types of Emotions Activity for Kids

Child Protection Week 2021 is soon approaching, and the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney's Safeguarding Office would like to invite all children to participate in the creation of designs for its new Activity Book.

The book will provide children with fun, educative and age-appropriate information about recognizing different emotions and keeping safe within the community.

All children are invited to complete the 'Types of Emotions' activity provided below, for a chance for their designs to be included in the Activity Book. If your child is interested, we encourage them to submit their creations!

Types of Emotions

We have many different emotions- sometimes we feel happy, sad, surprised or angry. We all show our emotions in a different way, for example when Annie is happy she smiles, and when Jerry is happy he does a handstand.

The Safeguarding Office needs your help in designing 'emoji' style characters that show different types of emotions for our new children's activity book. The best and most creative designs will be featured throughout the activity book which will be available to all children within the Archdiocese of Sydney.

Conditions of entry
  • Your 'emoji' style character needs to have colour
  • Your design needs to clearly represent the emotion
  • Your design shouldn't be too complex or overly detailed
Submitting your design

Your design must be submitted by an adult with your age and Parish written clearly on the bottom of the page. If you would like, you can also put your full name on the design, but please check with your parent/guardian before doing this.

Your design needs to be submitted by an adult to the Safeguarding office by Friday 21st May 2021, either by post or email.
