From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 1st August

Hi everyone,

The news that we have at least another four weeks of lockdowns ahead of us has put a great dampener on our hopes for a return to relative normality in our lives, and I know many of you are struggling with the added complications it brings.

My heart goes out to the many couples who had have had to postpone their wedding plans until a date sometime into the future, and also to the many families whose close relatives have passed away recently, and who could not attend funerals due to the limit on 10 attendees.

It was also such a pity that the 90th anniversary celebrations of Our Lady of Terzito had to be postponed, as this is a significant milestone in the life of our Parish, and I know so much work had already gone into the preparations for last Sundays festivities.

I also have heard from many of you how challenging home schooling can be for our young families, juggling their work commitments with continual noise and chaos.

And then there are the added difficulties of visiting loved ones in hospital, particularly if they have terminal illnesses and serious operations, or our elderly in nursing homes and hospices.

Our hearts go out to you all, and if there is anything we can do to help, please let us know. The priests of the Parish are permitted to continue to undertake their pastoral work whilst respecting the requirements of public health orders, and would be happy to assist in every way possible.

Please get in contact with us via the Parish phone on 0413 226 508 for urgent requests, or send me an email at pp@rgcp.org.au, and we will see how we can accommodate your needs at this challenging time.

In the meantime, we will continue to pray for you all and offer the masses each day for your intentions and needs.

United in the Lord’s service,
Fr Greg
