From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 5th September

Hi everyone!

First of all, Happy Father’s Day to all our Dads, Granddads, Foster Father’s and carers! We salute you on this day and thank God for your vitally important vocation, to be the face of God the Father to our kids and ‘father figures' to others on the way. In the world we live in, fatherhood in all its dimensions, is one of the most vital of vocations. The value of the steady hand of a father and his loving influence in the lives of his kids and grandkids cannot be underestimated. May Jesus hold you all in the palm of his hands this week, and help you through these challenging times ahead.

We will be drawing our 'Father of the Year'
hamper at the live streamed 10 am Mass this Sunday, so make sure your Dad or Granddad is registered with us beforehand at office@rgcp.org.au.. This year TJ Andrews Funerals have given us a hamper to raffle off, and we thank them for that. I am looking forward to who the Holy Spirit will be choosing as our Father of the Year this year, considering the fact that unlike other years, we only have one Mass to choose him from! Note well, that you only have up to 5 pm on Saturday evening to register his name to us, so get cracking!

Pastoral Care Visits
If any members of our Parish require a pastoral visit from one of our priests or receive sacraments available to them, please either ring the parish office on 9807 2966 during office hours, write to us at office@rgcp.org.au or, for urgent situations, ring or send a text through to the parish mobile on 0413 226 508. We will get back to you as soon as possible. We cannot enter into your homes except in exceptional circumstances, but we are very happy to speak with you on the verandah or in other external open places, albeit using the required masks to do so.

Mass Prayer Intentions.

If anyone has a particular intention for a Mass, be it a death anniversary or special intention, let us know at office@rgcp.org.au, and we will try to include them into one of our live streamed Masses, although we are limiting the number of names mentioned for the sake of brevity.

Prayer Spaces
As you can see we have a range of examples of prayer spaces that have been set up in the homes of some of our parishioners, some of which we are sharing with you below. Though we realise it probably isn't much of a substitute for a Church, I am sure they are helping to remind you that we are still celebrating the Mass on your behalf here and praying for you all.

And that's about it for now. Your brother in Christ's love and pastoral service,

Fr. Greg
