From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 12th December

Hi everyone!

Youth Car Wash and Sausage Sizzle at Sunday SCB Masses all day from 8 am.
This Sunday our youth will be having a Sausage Sizzle' and 'Car Wash' - while you pray - for your car to be enthusiastically cleaned by our younger parishioners. As you know, our Youth leaders were very disappointed to learn that the Electoral Commission denied them permission last week to have a traditional election 'sausage sizzle'.

However, we can confirm that the 'Bake Sale' was a raging success, (raising $1,185) and we thank you once again for your generous support in helping them raise money for their annual Youth camp at St. Benedict's Retreat Centre in January.

Letterbox Drop of Christmas Invitation cards this weekend.
We have prepared Christmas 'letterbox drop' cards to be delivered by helpful volunteers (like you???) into the letterboxes of the residents of this sector. Many new people have moved into our area in the past year and so the effort taken is truly worthwhile. Please deliver the cards between 10 to 5 days before Christmas so that they arrive in good time. Thank you in advance for helping us to get these cards out.

Residents of 'Gated Apartment Blocks'
If any of you live in a gated apartment complex, please contact the parish office at 9807 2966 or office@rgcp.org.au so that we can get these postcards to you to put them into the internal post boxes which are otherwise inaccessible to non-residents.

Please Note: Christmas Mass Cards are Not Classified as 'Junk Mail'
By the way, please don't be put off by 'No Junk Mail' signs on letterboxes when delivering these cards as these are exempt. We are providing a 'community service announcement' for local residents living in the area. Australia Post has published the following in this regard on their website: https://auspost.com.au/receiving/manage-your-mail/letterbox-management

"Please note: Material deemed to be political, educational, religious and charitable is exempt from "No Junk Mail" signed letterboxes according to standards developed by the Australian Catalogue Association."

Christmas Volunteers Meeting Wed 15th December at SCB Hall
With Christmas just two weeks away, we still need volunteers for some Masses set down for the Christmas weekend, as well as for Sunday Masses on 'Boxing Day' (a revised 'Positions Vacant' list has been provided once again by Hannah on page 4 of this bulletin).

Volunteers are still needed to set up for the Holy Cross College and SCB School outdoor services, at SCB Church as parking attendants and welcomers/COVID marshals, and for virtually everything at both of the OLQP Masses.

Again, please consider going to one Mass for your own spiritual benefit, and to serve at another as a "Christmas present" to Jesus and to your parish. For more info please contact the Office on 9807 2966 or office@rgcp.org.au.

Relaxation of COVID Restrictions Wednesday 15th December
The great news is that as of Wednesday 15th Dec, we should finally be free from having to wear masks to Church, and from any restrictions on numbers of people entering our Churches. If you still wish to wear a mask, you are most welcome to do so! Please be advised, however, that Service NSW still require you to sign in via either a 'QR Code' or the written forms at the doors of our Churches each time you enter.

And that's about it for now. God bless you all, and keep up the good work for Christ!

Your brother, in Christ's service,

Fr Greg
