From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 6th March

Hi everyone!

Back from my Trip to Spain!

Thanks for all your prayers for my safe return from my trip to Spain, where I participated in a Symposium in Madrid with my Verbum Dei Missionary Fraternity.

Although I was a bit reluctant to go, with the uncertainties of international travel in these COVID times, the trip was, nevertheless, a very fruitful one, with a great deal accomplished in that short space of time. So here I am once again with you, happily 'feeding the flock', even if a bit jet-lagged...

Rite of Sending of our RCIA Participants this Sunday at the 10 am Mass.

This Sunday we will be happily 'sending' our Catechumen (Howe), and our two Candidates for Confirmation (Lee and Lyndell) to the Cathedral where Archbishop Anthony will receive them on behalf of the Sydney Archdiocese. They have almost come to the end of their RCIA programme, under the guidance of Fr. Dan, and so we accompany them with our prayers, looking forward to them all being brought into full communion with the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil Service. Congrats, Howe, Lee and Lyndall!!!

Other Sacramental News - Registrations are Closing Soon!

Our Sacramental programmes are well and truly organised for the Year. Please note, however, that Registrations are closing very soon - for First Reconciliation & Holy Communion they close on Monday 7th March, and for Confirmation on Friday 11th March. It is the responsibility of parents and carers to get their children registered within the specified time frames, and to ensure that both they and their children participate fully in all formation sessions. I look forward to 'seeing' you all throughout the coming year.

Noah's Ark Cafe off to a Great Start

As featured in the Catholic Weekly two weeks ago, "Noah's Ark Cafe" - captained by Dominic Herring - is off to a great start. Whilst the heavy rain has definitely put a damper on things, nevertheless there has been a steady stream of customers who tell me "the coffee is great!" And the fact that the opening of Noah's Ark Cafe coincided with a 1000 year flood event in parts of our nation certainly is a curious coincidence. The van will be open for business six days a week, Tuesday to Sunday, and we look forward to a long association with Dominic and Jessica Herring and this little venture of their little son Noah.
