From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 4th September
Happy Father’s Day to all our Father’s, Grandfathers and Father figures!
It’s Father’s Day this Sunday, and we wish all of you a very happy Father’s Day with your families to celebrate this magnificent vocation of yours. As is our custom, we will be handing out a ticket to all Fathers and Grandfathers at all our Sunday and Vigil Masses, to allow the Holy Spirit to single out who will be our ‘Father of the Year’ this year. So, don't forget to invite your dads and granddads along, to see if they will be among the ‘chosen ones’ for this years' honours.

Upcoming Parish Spring Retreat, Sat 17th August, 10 am - 4 pm, Holy Cross College Grounds
Fr. Daniele and myself will be hosting the next Parish retreat, with the theme of "See, I am doing all things new, now it springs up. Do you not perceive it?" Coming out of the COVID cycle at last, this could be a marvellous way to give your spiritual life a boost and see the positive side of things, from God's perspective.
Don't miss it! Starts at 10 am, finishes at 4 pm, BYO Lunch. Let us know you are coming by sending an email to Fr. Daniele at frdaniele@rgcp.org.au
Postponement of Green Fingers ‘Topsoil Spread’ to Saturday 1st October
Sadly, forecasts of inclement weather have forced us to postpone the 'working bee' we had planned for Saturday, to weed the flower and agapanthus beds, and spread topsoil to level out the lawns around SCB Church. We are now hoping to do this work on Saturday 1st October instead, from 8am to 10:30 am.
Please save the date and give us a hand to keep the grounds in tiptop condition. In any case, if you could lend a hand at some stage every month for an hour or two of weeding the garden beds, you would be most welcome any day. Please contact me to let me know of your availability.
Senior Ministry/Bereavement Ministry Info Evening Wednesday 28th September at 6 - 7pm
As mentioned last week at some of the Masses, in coordination with Catholic care, we will be setting up a 'Senior's Ministry' at RGCP Parish, catering for the needs of our elderly parishioners in their retirement. Its aim is to connect people together, support seniors with their particular needs, and form and train our volunteers to accompany our elderly members with compassionate care throughout their retirement along with a bereavement ministry.

With this in mind, there will be an 'Information evening' on Wednesday 28th September with Stephen Hollai from CatholicCare. It starts at 6 pm, but you can grab a cup of tea/coffee from 5.45 pm onwards. See you there!!
And that’s about it for now.
God bless!
