Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 20th November 2022
Hi everyone!
First Holy Communions Continue this Weekend at SCB
Congratulations to all our youngsters who have completed their formation, and are receiving their First Holy Communion this month! Last week we had our first three 'batches' of First Holy Communicants, with two at St. Charles Borromeo Ryde and one at Our Lady Queen of Peace Gladesville. This weekend we will have yet another three, with the final Mass set for next weekend, the first week of Advent, which is kind of fitting for a First Holy Communion Mass! God bless all of you who are going to 'take Jesus home with you' for the first time in such a personal and even physical way!!I thank our outgoing Sacramental Coordinator, Dominic Altakchy, for his dedicated work to ensure that each and every celebration be so meaningfully prepared and seamlessly executed. We will need a new sacramental coordinator in the new year, so if any of you know of anyone who might be 'ready, willing and able' to fill that role, our Parish Team look forward to hearing from you!
Christmas Volunteers Needed!
We had our initial meeting last Wednesday night to start organising our Christmas Masses and activities. Thank you to all those who came along! We will soon be organising the volunteer sign up rosters, and this year we will be using the "Signup Genius" software, which worked wonderfully for the Parish Feast Day and the International Lunch. More about that in next week's bulletin.
For those of you who find using computers and the internet a bit challenging, a simple phone call, email or visit to the office is all you need to do in order to express your interest in volunteering for the Parish this Christmas season. I thank you in advance for kindly helping me out with the thousands who will avail of Christmas Masses this year.
And that is about all there is for the moment! I hope the beautiful weather lasts more than a few days ... and that the good weather stays for Christmas!
Your brother, in Christ’s service,
Fr. Greg
