From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 13th November

Hi everyone!
What an amazing International Lunch and Parish Feast Day we had!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our RGCP Parish Feast Day last Sunday such an amazing day!! The 'International Lunch' provided from ten different national 'cuisines' was top class, and the entertainment from St. Charles Primary was amazing! The weather was also perfect, for which we can all thank the Good Lord!

Days like these are colourful opportunities for us all to 'be Church' together, and I am so proud of all of you who went to such lengths to make it work. It was also a fine testament to our Community spirit that, coming out of COVID, so many of you should turn up for the event. There were well over 700 people there last Sunday!Huge thank you to all the organisers, especially Judy Raumer and Philippa Manley who did the bulk of the organising, along with our office staff. Thanks as well to all the international groups who fielded such a wide variety of foods with such friendly service! We are also indebted to Peter Watkins for the use of the school, and to all those who helped set up and pack up, and man the different stalls during the day. Check out some of the photos below!

Remembrance Mass last Tuesday 8th November
A huge thank you as well to those who helped us out with the Mass of Remembrance for all our loved ones who have passed away ever since COVID began and especially over the last 12 months. The Church was full and many people have commented on how lovely and gentle the experience was. Big thank you to our friends at Candle Supply and Sydney Flowers for the candles and flowers given out gratuitously.

First Holy Communions begin this weekend, and will continue for the next two weekends afterwards. Please keep our candidates for First Holy Communion in your prayers as they receive Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament for the first time. Huge thank you to Dominic Altakchy, our Sacramental Coordinator, who has so patiently and pastorally guided these little 'lambs' throughout the last year of their preparation.

Dominic Altakchy will soon be entering the Priesthood!
Dominic, our Sacramental Coordinator over the last two and a half years, will be leaving us in a few weeks to finish off his studies for the Priesthood over the next few years, and should soon be ordained to the Priestly Ministry! I cannot thank Dominic enough for the wonderful work he has done. We will miss him terribly, but wish him well for his continued studies.

Your brother, in Christ's service,

Fr. Greg
