From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 11th December 2022

Hi everyone!
Volunteer Thank You Mass and Brekkie
What a wonderful morning we had last Saturday for our Volunteers Thank You Mass and Brekkie! (see photos below) It was great to see you all there enjoying the amazing ‘spread’ - including bacon and egg rolls, fresh yoghurt, and coffee (and milkshakes for the kids) from our own Noah's Arc Cafe. This was our way of thanking you all for a whole year of volunteer service to the Parish. A big' thank you' to Sam & Paul Profilo for organising the BBQ for us and to my dauntless Office Staff for pulling it all together!Youth Car Wash Fundraiser
Last Sunday's Sparc Youth Car Wash was a marvelous success ... and Fr. Steve didn't manage to get sunburnt this time round! They spent the day washing cars to raise funds towards their upcoming Youth Camp at Toukley in late January. It was a fun day for the kids and lots of cars left the church much cleaner than they had arrived (thank God!!). I noticed that some of the owners even pitched in to ensure quality control was duly exercised!! They raised over $2000 towards the costs of the camp. Well done!!

Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass with Bishop Umbers - this Monday 12 Dec 2022 - SCB Church at 6 pm (in Spanish)
We are very pleased to have Bishop Richard Umbers presiding this year at our annual Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. If you would like to learn more about this amazing apparition of Our Lady and the Tilma on which the image was embedded, you can check out this webpage: https://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=456.

The Mass this year will be in Spanish, will begin at 6 pm, and will conclude with a little celebration afterwards. Our thanks to our friends from the 'Bonds of Marian Love' for organising this at our Parish. I look forward to seeing you there!

Christmas is now just around the corner...
Preparations for our Christmas masses are now in full swing. The Christmas postcards will be ready for collection from next Tuesday 13th Dec onwards and should be distributed in letterboxes by Tuesday 20th Dec. If you live in a 'gated' community (i.e., an apartment complex where the letterboxes are inside and there is no public access), please get in contact with us to get an extra bundle for distribution there as well. Great opportunity to get your steps up and improve your Vitamin D intake from all that walking and sunshine!

Christmas Rosters
The Christmas Roster will be published early this week so please let the office know if you need to make any changes, so that sufficient notice will be given for others to take your place. Here's hoping we have good weather this year!

And that's about it for now. God bless, and take care.

Fr. Greg
