From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 18th February, 2024

Hi everyone!

Opening Mass for Centenary Celebrations OLQP Church Sunday 3 March 24
The inaugural Mass for the year leading up to the Centenary of the laying of the Foundation Stone at OLQP Church Gladesville will be held at OLQP on Sunday 3rd March 2024. Our local Auxiliar Bishop for Sydney, Bishop Danny Meagher, will be presiding, who is also a past pastor at OLQP Church. We will be having a morning tea afterwards and a chance to chat with the Bishop. Please invite any former parishioners along for the day and ’save the date' in your diaries. It would be wonderful to see a big turnout on the day.

Continuing Formation "Marriage Course" began this Week
Our 'Marriage Course" began last Friday night with 14 couples, who will be looking to strengthen their relationships through some practical formations offered by the Archdiocesan's Life, Marriage and Family office.

They will meet for seven formation evenings on consecutive Friday nights, to deepen as couples in themes relevant to their marriage. Please pray for them as they undertake these very useful formation evenings.

Welcome Masses for Kindies and their Families this weekend.
We will be welcoming new 'Kindies' and their families at both the 5pm OLQP and the 10am SCB Church masses. The kindies will also be doing an 'offering song' at those Masses, and there is a BBQ afterwards for everyone attending. Please make all our school families feel very welcome!

'Snack Packs' needed for our Local Vinnies Van Service
Our local Vinnies Van service is very much up and running, and the teams are currently going out every Monday and Wednesday evening. We would appreciate your help in making snack packs for their clients. Please see the info box on page 7 to find out how you can help.

Holy Hour for Vocations next Thursday 22 February 8 - 9 am SCB.
All around the Archdiocese next week Parishes will be hosting a 'Holy Hour for Vocations". We have been asked to have our own at the Parish next Thursday 22 February, at short notice, I think the best option would be to hold this from 8 am to 9 am, followed by a Mass for Vocations at the usual 9:20 am Mass.

Come along and hear some vocational experiences, and pray that the Good Lord keep them coming.

And that's about it for now.

God bless,

Fr. Greg
