From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 12th May

Hi everyone!
Happy Mother's Day!
It's that time of the year again, and we are celebrating Mother's Day. We particularly welcome any new Mum's in the Parish this year, and I hope and pray it will be a lovely occasion for all of you with your families and loved ones.

Pentecost Vigil Prayer Evening 7.30 - 9.30m pm Sat 19th May
Next Saturday will be the Vigil for Pentecost, the big celebration of the coming of the Holy Spirit over the Apostles. To mark the occasion, there will be a prayer evening with some music and adoration, and we'd love for you to be a part of it. It starts soon after the end of the 6 pm Mass at SCB, and there will be a cup of coffee or tea available beforehand. See you there!

Meetings with Ministries: EMHC and Acolytes Nights Invites
The next 'Parish Ministry Meeting' will be for our EMHC (Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion) and for our Acolytes. I have booked in a 'social evening' and feedback session with our EMHC Ministers for Thursday 30th May and our Acolytes for Thursday 5th June so that we can meet to discuss how things are going, listen to initiatives and share experiences. I welcome feedback from you regarding your ministries at our Masses, liturgies and beyond. Please RSVP the office to let us know if you are coming or not.

Marriage Course News
Nice article in the Catholic weekly this week, highlighting the Marriage Course which we recently finished at the Parish. Check it out on page 4 of this week's edition. Thanks to Phillipa Manley, and Ace and Rowena Penano for organising it. Our intention is to offer the course again at a later stage this year or at much the same time next year, and it will again be open to all couples, at whatever stage of your journey together.

Corpus Christi Eucharistic Procession - Free Bus Tickets Available
As advised last week, the annual Corpus Christi Eucharistic Procession through the streets of the CBD will once again be taking place on Sun 2 June at 2.30 pm starting in Martin Place and working its way around to the Cathedral. Free bus tickets are available on a first-come-first-served basis to take you in and bring you back home again, courtesy of the Archdiocese. We do need you to register for a place on the bus by 24th May, so that doesn't give us a lot of time. The free bus tickets will be limited, so get in early! You can book your place here: https://www.trybooking.com/CRNLH

And that's about all for now. I wish all of you Mums, Grandma's and Great Grandma's a very happy Mother's Day, and wish you all the best in this special vocation in the year ahead (regardless of whether or not you happen to be chosen as our "Mother Of The Year" at any of our Masses this weekend!)

God bless!

Fr. Greg
