From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 9th June, 2024
Hi Everyone!!
Walk with Christ Procession Last Sunday
Thanks for the great turnout last Sunday for the 'Walk With Christ' Eucharistic procession through the heart of the CBD. About 15,000 people gathered all told, which is a great turn out, and I am proud to see that the Ryde Gladesville Catholic Parish Banner was followed by just under 100 of our Parishioners. Lovely turn out!
"Religious Freedom in a Secular World: Doomed or Doable?"
I have reprinted a talk on the opposite page which was recently given by his Grace Archbishop Anthony at the Sydney Catholic Business Network last Friday week. I found it an extraordinarily good 'summing up' of both the challenges we face at present and of the great amount of good that we Catholics achieve both locally and all over the world. Have a read of it ... I think you will be as impressed as I was!
Confirmations On Over Next Two Weekends (14-16, 21 - 23 June)
It is once again "Confirmation Season" at our Parish and we are expecting just over 100 confirmands and their families and friends at our Parish over the next two weekends. Bishop Danny Meagher will be presiding at the first three and I will be delegated the faculties for the second weekend. As usual, if you see him, make him very welcome.
And that's about it for now.
God Bless,
Fr. Greg
