Raise Your Voice for the Precious Unborn - Join on the Bus into Parliament House this Wednesday 19th March

Hi everyone,

In my previous email to you, I advised you of Archbishop Anthony Fisher's open invitation to take part in a rally being organised outside Parliament House on Wednesday 19th March at 5 pm.

The purpose of the rally is to protest the new abortion bill being tabled in NSW Parliament to try to force Catholic Hospitals to provide abortions, and force doctors who object to refer pregnant women who want an abortion to an abortion provider.

Your Ryde Gladesville Catholic Parish has organised a bus to take a total of 57 people along to be a part of it all. There is no cost involved in booking these tickets.

The Bus will leave St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Ryde (2a Charles Street, Ryde) next Wednesday afternoon at 4.15 sharp, in order to ensure we arrive at Parliament House in time for the event. The Rally is timed to finish by 6 pm. The bus will then take you back to the Parish once the rally is over.

To reserve a seat on the bus, kindly either email us at office@rgcp.org.auor call 9807 2966 to speak with our friendly Office staff.

We will be boarding the bus from 4 pm onwards, to make sure we arrive on time. Please make sure you are there on time, as we will not be waiting past 4.15 pm.

If you do book a seat, but later decide to not come, or find you cannot 'make it to the Church on time' that afternoon, please do everyone the kind favour by messaging us on 0413 226 508, so that we make a timely reallocation of your seat to someone else.

I thank you in advance for your participation in this important rally. Your presence there will make a difference.

God bless, see you on Wednesday afternoon,

Fr. Greg

PS. In case you didn't get it, here is the message that Archbishop Anthony sent out last Friday regarding the rally:

New South Wales has some of the most radical abortion laws in the world, with abortion allowed for any reason right up until the day of a child’s birth.

Alarmingly, this is not enough for some, with a bill currently before NSW Parliament that would make our laws even worse.

The new abortion bill will try to force Catholic hospitals to provide abortions, and force doctors who object to refer pregnant women who want an abortion to an abortion provider.

This is an extreme attack on people of faith and on faith-based health care across this state.

We have been told that debate on this bill could begin as early as Wednesday 19 March 2025, and so this is urgent.

It is somewhat providential that debate will begin on the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, who was entrusted by God to be the earthly Guardian of the Redeemer, and I encourage you to ask his intercession for the defeat of this bill.

The grave nature of this bill calls us to prayer and action for its defeat. To this end, there are two gatherings occurring next week for the promotion and protection of human life.

The first is on Wednesday, 19 March 2025, at 5pm sharp outside NSW Parliament House.

This rally will be specifically against this bill, with a range of speakers to address the impact of these proposals.
