From Fr Greg's Cabin: Sunday 25th January, 2026
Hi everyone!
Combined Youth Camp and Family Camp at Toukley this Weekend
This weekend I am taking part in our Parish's first "Family Camp" at Toukley on the Central Coast. We will be there from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon, with about 85 youth at the Youth Camp (on one side of the campsite) and about 50 more of us at the Family Camp on the other side. It looks like being a great weekend!
The youth will be sharing their experiences at the Sunday Night Youth Mass (6 pm at SCB) so come along to see how they all fared.
Next Weekend is Catechist Sunday
Next weekend at all the Masses we will hear from our intrepid Catechists about their work in teaching about our Catholic faith at our four designated local State Primary Schools (at Putney, Ryde, Gladesville and Boronia Park). They are also looking for more volunteers to help them out this year, as several have either moved or retired from the work and we have lots of kids to teach about Jesus. You can start off as simply an 'observer' and then progress to a 'helper' or even take on a class if you already have experience elsewhere. Why not give it a go? More information below in the big 'info box'.
Special 'Australia Day' Mass 9.20 am SCB Monday 26th January
As Australia Day falls on a Monday this year, we are making an exception and will be celebrating a 'morning Mass' at 9.20 am that day, to leave you free then to organise your family outings and/or BBQs.
'Our Lady of Guadalupe' Movie Screening Saturday 21 Feburary 7 pm SCB Hall
We will be offering a special screening of the new film exploring the amazing (and true) events when our Lady visited Mexico, appeared to St Juan Diego, and left a lasting 'impression' of herself on the 'tilma', the cloak Juan was wearing, and became the 'primary evangelizer' of the South American continent.
Come and see a dramatised version of the apparitions, and learn more about this wonderful, truly heart warming encounter with the Mother of our Lord. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchase using the trybooking link https://www.trybooking.com/DIUYP . So book your places (see the information box on page 5 of the bulletin
for more details).
And that's about it for now. I pray that this last week or so of school holidays will be a safe and happy time for you all and a nice way to begin the scholastic year ahead.
Your brother, in Christ's missionary service,
Fr. Greg
