Hi everyone!
The Sistine Chapel Revelations Exhibition is Awesome
Last Friday I had the privilege of visiting the "Sistine Chapel Revelations" exhibition, along with the Staff of SCB and OLQP Primary Schools, on the forecourt of St. Mary's Cathedral. It was a marvellous experience, and one I would heartily recommend a visit to anyone who would wish to do so. Though the tickets are, admittedly, not cheap, since the whole exhibition has cost the Archdiocese 'an arm and a leg' to set up and run, it is nevertheless a whole lot less expensive than going to Rome and seeing it for yourselves in person (which would be a very impressive sight for sure).

The exhibition offers a kind of 'immersion experience' in which you feel almost like you were there in the Sistine Chapel itself. The presentation is of optimal quality and quite concise. It offers cultural and faith formation through what is depicted on the walls and ceiling of this magnificent artistic masterpiece, with explanations not only as to how it was done and how long it took to complete, but also insights into the artists themselves and the background to the work itself. The accompanying video presentation brings to light features of the paintings that one might otherwise miss.

The Sistine Chapel Revelations exhibition will most likely end on the 19th of July, unless otherwise extended. I would heartily recommend it to everyone, even people who have little knowledge of Christianity, and hope as many of you as possible will avail of this unique opportunity to visualise the Sistine

Confirmations this Weekend at SCB and OLQP Churches
There will be a 'hive of activity' at our Parish this weekend, with a total of four Confirmation Masses for some 114 of our Year 6 cohort going on. Bishop Terry Brady, sadly, has not been well of late and so the Vicar General has delegated that to me this weekend in his place. We pray he will soon be well again. I hope the weather will be fine and sunny, and I look forward to meeting all our young 'Confirmands' who will be receiving this final "Sacrament of Initiation" into the Catholic Church. We hope and pray that they will go on to achieve great things for God in the years ahead.

And that's about all I have for now.

God bless,

Fr. Greg
