From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 30th August, 2026

Hi everyone!
There are a few big celebrations coming up, so please keep these in mind... First and foremost, to our friends on the other side of Victoria Road:

Congratulations Holy Cross College on their 135th Anniversary!

Next Friday our own Holy Cross College will be celebrating their 135th Anniversary with a special Mass in St. Mary's Cathedral for the "Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross" and you are all very welcome to join His Grace Archbishop Anthony who will be presiding. The Mass begins at 10 am, but participants should all be seated by 9.45 am. This is a nice way to support and show appreciation for the fine Catholic education Holy Cross College and the Patrician Brothers have brought and are bringing to so many of our young men over the past 135 years. There will be 'light refreshments' afterwards in the Chapter Hall attached to the Cathedral.

Family Camp (and Youth Camp) 22 - 24 Jan 2027
Knowing that most of you plan well in advance for your summer holidays, I am placing this 'advert' for our annual "Youth and Family Camp" which will be held on 22 - 24 January, near the end of the summer school holidays. Without doubt, it was a really wonderful thing and I hope more of our young families will take advantage of the opportunity. The Family Camp is held on one side of the campsite, and the youth have their own separate simultaneous camp on the other side, that way families of kids of all ages can be a part of it. Talk to Philippa Manley or myself about it, and 'save the dates' in your summer vacation calendar.

Parish Picnic Sunday 20th September 12 pm onwards
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible for our Parish Picnic on Sunday 20th Sep, down at Putney Park, 'Gazebo 4'. We won't be having our regular "coffee cart" open that day to concentrate on the Parish Picnic instead. All of our Priests will be with us that day, so it is a chance for us to catch up in a relaxed way. Check out the info box below. See you there and then!

And that's about it for now. Enjoy the weekend!

Fr Greg
