Hi everyone!
Parish Picnic a Raging Success.
Heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped plan, set up for, and help out at our Parish Picnic down at Putney Park last Sunday. It was a really lovely day, with about 350 of our parishioners donning hats and taking gazebos, folding chairs and picnic rugs to a favoured spot on the grounds we had booked with Ryde Council.

The BBQ was wonderfully coordinated and run by both of our school's P & F Committees, and we basically matched the food available with the hunger ... not to mention our amazing slushies which were a big hit with everyone. Br. Antonio and Natasha and the youth team kept the kids busy for three hours - a feature endurance in itself - and we couldn't have asked for better weather, with a light breeze to boot in the early afternoon to temperate bright sunshine.

We will definitely have another one next year. Our next big Parish function will be our International Food and Feast Day (for St. Charles Borromeo) on Sunday 8th November. So please save the date ... this will be held, as usual, in the grounds of SCB Primary School.

Parish Hospitality Teams Needed For SCB 10 am Mass Ministry
Over the last three years we have been developing our RGCP 'hospitality ministries' at both SCB and OLQP Churches after the main Sunday morning Masses. We need to organise some teams, particularly at SCB Church to cope with the large number of people now staying after Mass on Sundays - which is actually a nice problem to have.

Could you please give us a hand by organising three or four of your good selves into a 'hospitality team' for a regular rostered slot? The work involves setting up a couple of tables, rolling out the Tea and Coffee trolley, setting out the cakes and bickies and then manning the tables afterwards. It usually means about a half an hour before and after the 10 am Mass to carry out this important ministry. We just need a few more teams so as to make the ministry more sustainable.
