From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 18th October, 2026

Hi everyone!
RGCP Feast Day Sun 8 Nov 2026 Early Bird Tickets now on sale!
I mentioned last week, our Parish Feast Day is but a month away, with our signatory "International Lunch". You can get more info in the "info box" on the below, so I won't repeat that now. What I will mention, however, is that as of Friday, an "Early Bird Special" of 20% off the price of the entrance tickets ($10 Adults, $5 children for all you can eat!!!!!) is on offer, which closes the 1st November, so please get in early to "RSVP" us so that we can gauge a bit better the size of the undertaking. Last time we had about 700 people, so we need to make sure we have enough to feed the multitudes (bar some sort of unexpected 'miracle' on the day!!).

Again, please keep in mind that you can help to prepare for the day by also helping us out with our "Drinks Drive" beforehand, to help subsidise the cost of the venture. We are going to need a lot of drinks (especially if it is 'nice and hot' with sunny conditions!). Can you help us out by buying a few extra cans of drink/poppers/fruit juices/mineral waters) of the 200 ml - 375 ml variety so that we can have plenty to offer? We are going to need a lot of them and, besides, if we have any leftovers, there are all the youth activities over the next few months, so it will be well received.

Young At Heart Luncheon Ryde-Parramatta Golf Club 12 Noon Wednesday 21 October
Our RGCP special Senior's group, the Young At Heart, are having their next 'do' this coming Wednesday, with a lovely luncheon at the Ryde-Parramatta Golf Club. Now, if you have never been on any outings with them before, or been to one of their luncheons, I can assure you that these are really lovely outings, and you shouldn't miss them for 'all the world' as they say. So, if you are in the 'Senior's' category (as I am) then you ought to give them a try. There are other activities advertised as well on page 3 of this bulletin, so check them out for yourselves. The contact for next Wednesday's luncheon is Julie McCarthy (no relation to my mother!!) on 0466 557 107. Enjoy!!

Holy Cross Cadet Unit Camp at Singleton this weekend
I will be up at Singleton this weekend, on cadet camp with the Holy Cross College Cadet Unit, of which I am their Chaplain. It looks like we are in for a bit of rain, so if you would kindly pray for blue skies (or (at least harmlessly cloudy ones), I can assure you that your prayers will be greatly appreciated by both Parish Priest and 'Company!. I am certain you will be very looked after by the other priests this weekend, but if you do have anything you particularly wanted to discuss with me we will have to leave it until next week.

And that's about 'it' for now, as I am rushing out the door to 'don my greens' and get in cadet camp mode. God bless ( ... especially those of us on camp...)

Fr. Greg
