From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 1st Novemebr, 2026
Hi everyone!
RGCP Parish Feast Day Next Weekend Nov 8th 11.30 am onwards!!
There is but one week to go, and the 'Food Purveyors' are getting their recipes and ingredients together for our amazing "International Lunch". We now have more than 21 countries and cuisines represented, so you are going to have an amazing choice of foods to select from. It all starts off at 11.30 am, after the 10 am Sunday Mass is over. Early Bird tickets end on Sunday 1st November at Midnight, so get in for the 20% discount before then to secure your own cheap tickets.
Donations of cupcakes, muffins, donuts, cookies and slices can be dropped off to Little Noah's Cafe on Sunday morning 8th Nov. "Drinks Drive" will continue until Saturday Evening at the 6 pm Mass, but if you can drop them off to the Parish Office during office hours (8.30 am - 4.30 pm) all next week that would be greatly appreciated.
My thanks to all those who have 1) offered to help out as volunteers in all sorts of ways 2) already secured their 'Early Bird' tickets (as this gives us some sort of an idea as to how many to expect, 3) are going to entertain us with their music on the day and 4) are praying to the Good Lord that rain holds off so that we can have a lovely sunny day for the celebrations!
Feast Day - Help Needed to Set Up Gazebos etc. Sunday 7.30 am 8 November
We need more volunteers to help set up on Sunday morning 7.30 am onwards for about an hour. Paul Vella and Paul Profilo will be organising this, so see them on the day. We will also need parking wardens for the 8 am and 10 am Masses on the morning of the 8th. We would like to have a few 'First Aid Officer's on the day as well just to cover things; any takers?? Please let the Office know if you can help us out in any of these areas.
Mass Intentions During the Month of November
Every year we seem to have this conversation ... and every year there are issues. Can I please just have your cooperation on this one, and that is, because the month of November is devoted to praying for our dead, we have instituted a practise every year of creating a Roll of Honour in our Churches as a symbolic way of remembering our deceased loved ones. There are November Mass intention envelopes for this purpose.
And, yes, there will always be 'exceptions', but please help us to keep the exceptions to truly exceptional circumstances! These will need to be limited to
1} very recently deceased;
2) those for whom either a 30- or 40-day Mass are being offered (especially with the family present for that specific purpose); and 3) the anniversary of one year.
Please kindly remember that we catered for all other deceased loved ones at our Memorial Mass held on 31 Oct 10.30 am OLQP Church, apart from the Annual Mass of Remembrance on November 10 (for those who have passed away in the last two calendar years only).
Could you please not insist on having your loved one's names read out at a Mass if they are not either very recently deceased, or have their 'Month's Mind' or first anniversary about this time? I thank you all in advance for your help in making things easier for all of us.
Annual Remembrance Mass Tuesday 10 November 7.30 pm SCB Church
Our annual "Mass of Remembrance" for loved ones who have passed away in the last two calendar years 2025 - 2026 will be held on Tuesday night, 7.30 pm at St Charles Borromeo Church. As usual, we will have a special glass encased candle to commemorate your deceased loved one. However, it will be of great help if the Office knows about your attendance on behalf of your deceased family member well in advance.
Could you please notify the Parish Office before midday Monday 9 November to ensure that their names may be entered onto the lists and a candle procured for them with their name already written on it.
And that's all I have for now. God bless, have a lovely week!
Fr. Greg
