From Fr Greg's Desk: Sunday 8th November, 2026

Hi everyone!
Having covered the Parish Feast Day and the Annual Memorial Mass extensively in past Bulletins, I won't reiterate everything I have already said, apart from wholeheartedly encouraging you to participate in them. I thought that it might be better to take the opportunity this week to mention two very important upcoming activities happening near the end of this month of November - namely the Walk With Christ and the Trivia Night (in support of our Youth going to World Youth Day Seoul September 2027). It always helps to plan ahead!

'Walk With Christ' - Through the Streets of the Sydney CBD Sun 22 Nov 2.30 pm
Every year the Archdiocese holds a large procession through the streets of the CBD following the Archbishop and our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. This year is no exception - except that the day for this wasn't Corpus Christi (last June) due to the Sistine Chapel presentation on the plaza in front of the steps of St. Mary's Cathedral. So, the procession was transferred to the Feast of Christ the King. It is  called the "Walk With Christ" and it attracts people from all over Sydney, with last year's reaching about 15,000 all told, walking, praying, singing and 'being Church' altogether.

As usual we will be offering a free bus service (courtesy of the Archdiocese} to bring you into the city and back again. The bus will leave from outside the SCB Church grounds at 1.15 pm, Sun 22 Nov and will pick you up again to take you home afterwards (unless you want to stay in the city for the evening and make your own way home instead). To book your free bus ticket, use the QR code in the info box on the opposite page or ring the Office during office hours.

'Parish Trivia Night' - Sat Night 28 Nov - in Support of our RGCP Youth's World Youth Day Trip to Seoul (Korea) Aug 2027
Fr. Steve and the Parish Youth Team are holding another one of their amazing 'trivia nights', this time at Holy Cross College Hall on Saturday 28 November at 6 pm. So you have another three weeks to organise a trivia team, book your table, and test your trivia knowledge against the best that the other teams will give!

We will have more information about the night in coming weeks, I hope you will get behind this 'fundraising initiative' of our 15 young people who are preparing to meet Pope Leo and about 2 million other Catholic youth in Seoul next August 2027. They will also be holding a car wash in December for the same reason. Thanks in advance for your help in getting them there.

And that's about it for now. See you on Sunday, at our RGCP Parish Feast Day in the grounds of St. Charles Primary School Ryde from 11.30 am onwards.

God bless!!

Fr. Greg
